Although much has changed since Mesa was founded by Mormon missionaries more than 120 years ago the attributes that attracted those early settlers continue to draw thosand of newcomers each year. In the 1980's the city's population grew by a whopping 89 percent to 288,000 residents. It's current population has grown past the half million mark in 2004 and it's still growing.

Mesa is located 12 miles south of Phoenix and covers more than 123 square miles. It is situated on US Highway 87 and AZ Route 60. Mesa is growing rapidly. During the 1990's the population grew by 18.9%, compared to a national average across the United State of 9.4%.
